@justastarkgenius // my hand slipped. a lot.

It had been a wonderfully exclusive party, a place for the elite in many different avenues to congregate without paparazzi or reporters, to make deals without formalities and the like. Reddington had walked away with a guaranteed trade route through Kazakhstan and stock in a start-up company that would crush Uber in under six months.

Then the storm had started.

Most of the guests had made it out, but somehow, Red found himself battening down the hatches as the gale-force winds threatened to tear the roof off the house. Luckily for him, one of the smartest and most resourceful people in the universe managed to miss the last available airship. “Anthony!” he called out, having just managed to get himself out of the storm, “Tell me you’ve got some sort of fancy gadget on you that can help reinforce these windows.” He put on the glasses that turned him from Reddington to Kenneth Rathers, brushing the water off his jacket as he leaned against the door.

I added this to my verses a little while ago, but I haven’t gotten to use it much yet! I’m following some Marvel/DC blogs so I can actually do something with it, but I wanted to give it a post, too, so it’s a lot easier to find!

Little changes from the main universe, but Red is no mere mortal. He was captured once, while still in the navy, and when these men had him, they tortured, but they also gave him something, to see what he would do with it, see what he could do with it. Red now has a few abilities, and he’s used them to help him rise to the top of the criminal underworld.  His powers include:

  1. Low-level teleportation, he can move from room to room, or down the block, but he can’t teleport just anywhere in the world. It’s got a limit of a few miles at most. He shimmers, somewhat like the old charmed demons
  2. He can become intangible to reach objects behind glass, or to pass through walls to evade capture. It helps when he’s handcuffed, or otherwise incapacitated.
  3. He can will objects to him, but they cannot be a great distance away(same couple mile radius). The few times he’s needed to steal things, he’s been able to do so without even being in the room.
  4. He has hyper-enhanced senses/abilities which includes it being harder to actually injure him. For example if someone like Wolverine can heal a broken arm in a few minutes, it takes Red a few hours. He’s never been close enough to death to know if he’s immortal or not, not that he knows of at least.
  5. Lastly, he has some low level glamour/morphing abilities. He can’t go full mystique level morph, but he can make his face/gender different, though he can’t change his eyes. He uses this to ensure that he makes a clean getaway, and that no one can properly ID him

All these have aided him in becoming the Concierge of Crime.

Depending on who I’m interacting with, I’ve come up with the idea that instead of him turning himself into the FBI and creating the Task Force(the premise of the show he’s from), he can, potentially, turn himself into SHIELD(the good ones/whatever’s left after CATWS) and help them catch criminals/low-level powered bad guys(still pretty dangerous but think more like Wilson Fisk than Thanos)

Buuuuut yeah! I’d really like some Marvel/MCU and DCEU/DCTVU interaction!

Don’t insult my intelligence, Reddington. I was giving you an opportunity to come clean about why. Of course she’d known he was on her tail. Red’s good at what he does, but that only worked if his target didn’t know him on sight. What was keeping her from shooting him in the foot was beyond her. Now’s the time when you explain yourself.

Red smiled at her, “You know I would never do such a thing, Agent Romanoff. I only insult someone’s intelligence when it’s deserved, and you’re not deserving of anything of the sort.” He was glad, honestly, that she hadn’t shot first and asked questions later, he appreciated not having a bullet lodged somewhere in his body. “I heard you were in town and thought it high time we catch up,” not a lie, but not the entire truth, either. A sigh, a look of frustration before he continued. “It appears I’ve made myself a bit of a target, after helping–well, the details aren’t all that important, but your particular skillset would come in quite handy at…dispatching this threat.” He hated asking for help, he hated asking her for help even more, but he wanted to get his shadow off his back, and quickly.

I’d thank you, but I’m sure that’s an insult coming from the likes of you. If looks could kill, Red would be dead on the ground from the gaze coming out of Natasha. Which he clearly picked up, given the wide berth he gave her.

It’s a baseless rumor from someone trying to get rid of me, she sat back in her chair, a cloudy look on hatred settling over her features.  My old master is coming ‘round to try and collect something that is no longer his. Happens every few years; nothing new.

“On the contrary, Miss Romanoff, regardless of our current occupations in life, when one has skills such as yours, I can recognize a force to be reckoned with.” Red wasn’t afraid of her, but he knew what she was capable of, and it was best not to invite any unnecessary fighting into his life.

A frown tugged the edges of his mouth downward, “What a shame, whoever would want to get rid of you must have been supremely unintelligent, enough so to have found themselves on your bad side.” And now, his eyebrows bounced up in mock-surprise, every few years? “I can’t quite figure out if it will be a good thing or a bad thing to have chaos on such a tight schedule.”

I’m not questioning your CV, Reddington, I’m questioning your competence. Natasha’s usual professional manner dropped the moment she laid eyes on Red. Everything about him got under her skin. Worst of all, though, was how his shit eating grin reminded her of Ivan.  One would think a man of your age would learn how to handle a few basic bomb making techniques. Or is it a matter of dexterity?

Raymond took his hands from the wiring he’d been fiddling with, “Everyone has their specialties, Miss Romanoff, mine lay more with firearms and tactics. I have someone who can make bombs for me, and much better uses of my time.” Thankfully, he remembered some basics from high school science lab, as well as sifting through old files and reports in counter-intelligence. “I prefer a more targeted approach, if possible. Bombs are always so… messy.”
