01. favorite portrayals of a character in your fandom.
@whcwashe - constantine. emily is such a stunning liv aberdine! she’s taken a character with very little background, who appeared in only one episode, and she’s built liv into more fleshed out a character than some actual canonical characters out there, made liv her own in a really impressive fashion. emily is an incredible writer who has this great, realistic way of tackling specifically reactions to an environment and the strain of being involved with something as volatile as magic. emily and liv are just incredible!
@guiltspelled - dc / jld. FARRAH HOLY FUCK farrah is just an incredible zatanna zatara who cares so much about the character and knows so much about her and it comes through in everything she writes! she has so many cool ideas for zatanna and i’ve never had a thread with her that wasn’t intensely fun and crazy creative, she’s a brilliant zee with a gift for writing and i just adore her portrayal so much!
@chaschandler - hellblazer. GODDAMN i have not found a hellblazer-based chas chandler who tears it up quite like this person here, they get his humor and his voice and his complicated relationship with john down to a science and it’s a treasure to write with them! they really have the dialogue down pat and i just love the way they characterize, it’s wonderful to see a hellblazer-based chas and they just do him so much good.
@lovedfalling - dc. oh my GOSH nargiza is just a stunning writer. i haven’t had personal experience with them but i am always awed and amazed by what comes across the dash. they care so much about dick grayson and know more about him than the writers probably do, and tbh they are everything i will always aspire to be as a writer and just in general as someone who cares about a character.
@deathrisen - dc. so!! goddamn!! wonderful!! they are absolutely iconic in the way they write jason, and they so obviously care about him and it shines through in everything they do. they did this one ask about pacific rim at one point that was like, “would he be jaeger-compatible” or something like that AND I WAS OVER HERE DYING!! just a wonderful writer and a funny fuckin person from what i’ve seen, i’m always in awe.
@youstolemycoat - dc / jld. GOD NICK MOTHERFUCKING NECRO they get his attitude down fucking pat, from delusions of grandeur to having loved john and zee to his cutthroat way of getting what he wants all the time! they know what he’s like and they don’t shy away from his darkness, his assholishness, they embrace it and put it forward and everything i write with them is exciting and full of twists!
i have SO MANY MORE because the dc fandom is just absolutely stunning and full of so many amazing, awe-inspiring writers, but i’m going to leave it with that lot for the moment, and some i’m saving for the multimuse question! pretty much everyone i follow who writes dc is just incredible!

@wightwulf - marvel. LIVI HOLY FUCK livi is just a wonderful writer no matter who she picks up, and bucky is no exception! she’s put so much thought and care into him and has gone in depth into his mindset and the workings of his bionic arm and she just blows my mind with everything she writes about him! she’s also got a really fascinating way of detailing bucky’s thoughts in her threads, and i love reading her writing! livi is just an absolutely fantastic writer, idk how she couldn’t be on this list!
@bravegroupie - pacific rim. another person i’ve had zero experience with personally, but they are WONDERFUL! their descriptive style is so markedly different from their dialogue style, and yet it works together really, really well, and the characterization is just on point all the way through. their blog honestly convinced me to watch pacific rim in the first place, actually, i started off as just your average charlie day nerd sdghjk.
@gutrage - marvel. is anyone truly surprised, danny is an amazing writer! he has given logan such new life and depth and his logan has honestly become practically canon in my mind, i can’t see wolverine as being any other way. i was never even honestly interested in wolverine before i followed, and now i am always intrigued and excited about him! his writing is unbelievably good, so on point for his character and far beyond as well, and honestly if you’re not following, you’re seriously missing out.
@againsthedark - fallout. i honest to god know so little about fallout, but i would follow bishop to the ends of the earth tbh, they are such a fantastic writer and never fail to get me scrolling through a blog for an hour and a half trying to read everything! nick valentine is such an incredibly fascinating character, too, i love the concept of this nuclear apocalypse synthetic humanoid tooling around and i am so drawn to the way they write his thoughts and even just physicality. just an incredible writer all around, i’m always in awe.
@criimeconcierge - blacklist. I OWE RED FUCKITY REDDINGTON MY LIFE he is one of my favorite characters of all time, the blacklist quickly became one of my favorite shows the minute i started it, and erick has his voice down solid! red reddington is a nightmare to write, and i know this from experience, he’s a slippery fuck with so many difficult, specific mannerisms to grasp, and erick just nails them on the head every goddamn time. his somehow surprising care for the ones that matter to him, his casual brutality when he needs to make a point, his way of throwing out bits of stories about wild antics here and there. it’s just a delight to write with him and read his writing!
and once again i have SO MANY PEOPLE to name and i don’t want to miss anyone so i’m just going to leave it at this! there are so many stunning writers out there, they’re all wonderful!!
YO SO we haven’t written at all on this blog, i think, but we had a thread going on my ryan blog and may i just say, you are one of my favorite rpers out there. not just because you write red, who i love, but because you write him like you ARE him! you capture his mannerisms down to a T, from his weird moments of stillness followed by sudden movement, to that thing he does with his tongue, to the very cadence of his voice, and it’s seriously amazing. WRITING ASIDE, you are such a friendly and funny person and the little that we’ve talked has been engaging and enjoyable! i really want to get to know you better in the future, keep on being incredible!!
